The Hub is part of Lyme Regis Development Trust (LRDT), a 20 year old charity and community business. LRDT has a great track record in helping make the most of places and spaces for the Lyme Regis community, and through these, helping to develop local individuals and businesses to realise their potential.
The Hub has been part of LRDT since 2010, when, with the County Youth Service, The Woodroffe School and Dorset County Council, the disused building was purchased with the aim to bring it back into use for young people and the wider community.
LRDT and The Hub have a special emphasis on forward-looking projects to fill gaps in the local economy, support activity for young people, and tackle rural disadvantage. The principle is to increasingly use income from building rents, leases and hire to support the core business of the Trust, whilst applying for grants to support new projects.
Our current projects are Lyme Bay Radio station, The Old School House community cafe and Lyme Regis Workshop.
