Fill this in now!

Fill this in now!

The youth club sessions at The Hub on Monday and Wednesday and Friday are really important to young people as they are managed and staffed by trained youth workers who are employed by DCC.  Not every child wants to go to an organised after school activity and youth club gives them a place to drop in to, relax and make friends, if they don;t have youth club they have no place to socialise or the chance to have fun and grow in self esteem and confidence.  Please have your say and fill in the on-line questionnaire before December 16th.  If you don’t have access to a computer please use the ones available at LymeNet, St Michaels Business Centre, Church Street, Lyme Regis.

Great music!

Dancing Shoes On!

Dancing Shoes On!

What a great night this will be!  Mr Jean are the funkiest band in town who play those old favourite dance floor fillers so that time has arrived again! “What time?!” you ask…Mr Jèan time! Bringing their inimitable sound to The Hub can only mean dancing, prancing, thinking, mingling, singing, shin-digging and hip wriggling, but not in that order.

Slinky Machine are using this event as their debut as a band!  Cool jazz funk sounds.

A licensed bar and food by “Dottie Kitchen” will top of the evening brilliantly.

Please come and support The Hub and Red Arrows 2016!  This a joint fundraiser for our ongoing renovation work and of course, summer isn’t summer in Lyme Regis without the Red Arrows!

There’s lots happening during youth club in October.  All the sessions are only 50p so go and give it a try.  There’s always the pool table to play, Wii and Xbox and normally some cookery and milkshakes being made!

A great honour to have this performance at The Hub!

A great honour to have this performance at The Hub!

The next Concerts in the West performance is on Saturday October 3 from 7.30-9.30.  Musicians of London Wall will be performing music from the baroque era and play on either genuine period instruments or accurate contemporary copies.

Catherine Hodgson, the founder and director of this music charity saw them performing earlier this year at the London Handel Festival and knew that these were exactly the type of passionate, exuberant performers to come and play for Concerts in the West’s audiences this October in Devon, Dorset and Somerset.

“Musicians of London Wall make use of popular 18th Century instruments and their performances give audiences a unique insight into the repertoire and style of playing of that era, which is tremendously exciting,” said Catherine Hodgson. “It is rather thrilling to know that the music they are playing comprise original pieces, the music we will be hearing is like an echo from the past.”

Musicians of London Wall are Emily Baines playing recorder, Ivana Cetkovic – violin , Alexis Bennett on viola, Lucia Capellaro playing cello, and Katie De La Matter harpsichord.

Tickets are available from Serendip in Lyme Regis and cost £15 for an adult and if you bring another person along, introducing them to the series, they can attend free.  Students of 12 years + are half price and children of 11 years and under are free with an accompanying adult.
