The Hub, as part of the Lyme Regis Development Trust, is considering offering a Summer Activity Programme in 2019 for primary school aged children, subject to there being a requirement and then being able to secure funding. We would initially offer this for 2-3 weeks in the summer holidays as a pilot to gauge if this could work for longer holidays and possibly at other times of the year.

We would give young people the opportunity to take part in sports, cookery, arts and crafts, music and drama. This varied programme would be led by professional session leaders and would work in partnership with other local organisations, which may mean some of the sessions taking place outside of The Hub, subject to the necessary permissions being sought.

We need to demonstrate the there is a need and want for this in the community and would be grateful if you could complete the short questionnaire by following this link.

Young people can use the different spaces at The Hub, taking advantage of our special rental rates. Sarah Crossley rented The Hub for her photography college work (Art and Design Foundation Diploma). She said “I was able to use the space for £10 for the day and had a great time shooting with my models, who all felt comfortable modelling in this space. There was a stage and large hall which worked fantastically for me to have plenty of room to set up my studio and get my models ready.”

“It’s so great and refreshing to have a space like this available for people like me to use in Lyme Regis. I honestly wouldn’t have been able to produce the fashion photographs that I did without The Hub as it really allowed me to spread out and use their facilities. We need more young people to be encouraged to follow their creativity, and I feel that The Hub can really help make this possible.”  This is some of her photographs!
